I really appreciate watching JJ Wessel surfing whenever I can catch a glimpse, and Pickle is out of this world. Ten years from now there will be textbooks on style featuring these two. For now we only have the occasional video, youtube and vimeo to keep us up to date on how to position ourselves in the curl. Actually that's probably just me, but anywho summer is upon us along with warm water so get out when you can and keeps it real.

I've been lucky enough to grow up on beaches that have had "minimal" impact by man. Other than beach replenishment, taking sand from inlets and such and putting it back on some our beaches to keep the barrier islands in North Carolina from disappearing, and maybe a couple of jetty's here and there, I think we have a pretty nice coastline if I do say so myself. I really don't want to see this happen to us, or anyone else for that matter... Well maybe the hot chick from mythbusters part, but nothing else.

Now I'm not one who promotes buying mass-produced surfboards, but dammit these here are hard times! With Great depression 2.0 in full effect this little gem is here to wash your bummer time blues away. Made right here in the good 'ol US of A catch surf is making boards that are made to have fun in any condition. I was able to get the 6'0" y-quad out this evening. It was honestly the most fun I have ever had on a short board in thigh high surf. Being 6'3" and close to 200 lbs myself, I had no problem paddling into waves in between sets, and I don't know what you think but if your bigger than the average surfer like me, I don't feel like buying a brand new $600 shortboard once a year due to dings and de-lams and such. Oh yeah the sets were thigh high this evening in good ol reliable Wrongsville Beach, NC; however in the words of the beloved children's television program 'Reading Rainbow' "but don't take my word for it", If you come across one try it out for yourself.
Well the water is almost 70 degrees but we still have no waves. I did paddle out today on my 9'4" and got a couple of fun ones but nothing over waist high.
There have been a lot of guys out with kites the past couple of days. We have the wind, I just don't understand how we can't get any waves. Palease let us have some waves this summer.
